Summer Reading Letter 2020

One goal of the Barrington Middle School is to assist your child in becoming a lifelong reader. The summer months provide the perfect opportunity to enrich your child’s reading experiences.

This summer all middle school students entering grades six and seven are required to read two (2) books from the 2021 RI Middle School Book Award nominee list.

All middle school students entering grade eight are required to read the first 71 pages of Dry by Neal and Jarrod Shusterman, and one (1) book from the
2021 RI Middle School Book Award nominee list.

All Summer Reading documents are available online at the Barrington Public Schools Homepage under STUDENTS/PARENTS.  Click on Summer Learning and then find 6-8. Hover over Summer Reading and click on the appropriate grade. You can also find the documents on the Middle School website. From the homepage under “Learning”  click on “Summer Learning.”

Both Barrington Public Library and Barrington Books have been notified of all the titles on the BMS Summer Reading List.

Happy Summer Reading!
